I like to BBQ and I've wanted a set of grill mats for some time. I wish I hadn't waited so long. I know people use these to cook burgers and hot dogs.... And they do work great for that. But I like to see the grill marks on those things. I like to be creative with my grill mat and use my gas grill to cook other kinds of foods.
I live in the boondocks and I love pizza. Unfortunately the only pizza place close to me charges like they are the only pizza place close to me. I don't mind making my own pizza, in fact I enjoy doing it. But it's been so hot lately than I hate to fire up my oven in the kitchen. The non stick grill mat offered another solution. I use them to cook pizza on my gas grill. I know I'm not the first to do this, but, it was a first for me to try it. And, it works great. My pizza cooks awesome and the crust doesn't stick to th mat. You can cook pancakes, bacon, and eggs on your BBQ grill. This is pretty awesome for some of the early morning tailgates I go to. The non stick grill mat works great at a tailgate. I like how versatile they are. I'm discovery new ways to use them all the time.
I can't say enough about the BBQ grill mat. They are the best thing ever for grilling. Juicy meats that don't get charred from flare ups. I typicaly get around 8 uses out of them. They will last a bit longer if you don't try and burn the residue off of them and instead scrape it off with something flat under running water.
I initially was concerned at how thin the BBQ grill mat is but it performs well. The meat exhibits grill marks like the mat isn't there but the meat is juicier. Not having an open flame prevents the meat from drying out. Cleanup is easy as well. You like to keep your grill clean. Get these. Easy to clean and keep all the barbeque sauce off your grill. What a way to keep from burning your chicken with barbeque sauce.
I've been using silicone baking sheets indoors forever and love them. I didn't think they made them for grills, but we bought a set and tried them immediately. They are better than I expected; we even got grill marks! The silicone feels oily but I use a heavy duty green scrubber and Dawn dish soap and they clean up fine. Much easier than cleaning the grill so from my perspective it's a huge win. We immediately bought a second set of 5 to share with a neighbor.
