I had barbecue mat for about two years and they work great for fish fillets, vegetables, shrimp and any smaller foods being grilled. Clean-up is easy and they have proven to be durable keeping in mind the temperature limits. Much more sturdy than other grill mats I’ve tried. Easy to clean and has held up very well. The less expensive barbecue grill mat have not lasted as long as these have. Fills the area of an average grill with about a two to three inch space at the back to allow for heat flow. Cooks great and cleans easily with both food places directly on the barbecue mat and when the mat is pre greased. After using I am pleasantly pleased with the performance. One of the best items I have purchased in awhile. Would recommend this product to all who are on the fence about it.
I have been using BBQ grill mat for a long time and these are the best I have found. Easy to clean, very heat resistant. Worked amazingly well on marinated salmon. It held together beautifully and had a nice sear. We have tried multiple grill mats in the past. These are the best of the bunch. They are thicker and more durable. I downgraded the rating because when a flareup damaged the mat I was not impressed with customer service. The BBQ grill mat claims a seven year warranty. I admit that I forgot about that. When I went to repurchase, I noticed the warranty. I then e-mailed customer service. The response was quick. However, since I had thrown away the damaged mat, they would not honor the warranty. It was disappointing. So, in summary, good mat but if it is damaged you should keep it because they require you to mail back the damaged mat before they will do anything.
I rarely write Amazon reviews but this barbecue mat makes it necessary. I bought a new barbecue grill and I was researching how to keep it clean. When I came apon the Kona grill mat. I’ve used it 10 times and my grill is still pristine. The mats are still in fantastic shape and they work great. If you don’t want to clean your grill use these guys they are great. This grill mat is the best I have used - it is sturdy, thick and you get grill marks! Easy cleanup on the grill and the grill mat. Loved them so much ordered another set for a neighbor. Used it for salmon grilling and got beautiful char marks on the fish. Easy to clean! Can’t wait to see how it works on steaks!
Someone sent me the copper version of these mats and they worked OK but I wanted to give these a try. Personally, I like these a lot better. They seem to hold the heat better. It is nice to be able to remove the mat and clean it vs. scrubbing off food that stuck to the grill. Great for fish, scallops, etc. that is apt to stick to the grill. Blackened salmon is easy as you can grill it face down to sear the top. Plus grills under the mat still create nice grill marks. I don't know how I got along without these before. Now that I have them... we cook everything on them. Makes grilling easier since nothing falls through... easy clean up since the grill never gets dirty and these are washer safe.
