YRYM HT grill mats work perfectly for grilling

I have used the grill mats bought from YRYM HT for several times. Love this grill mat but I managed to destroy the first one in 2 uses with too much heat. It became impossible to clean and got holes in it. When it says up to 500 degrees, they meant it. Since my thermometer on my grill is broken, I have no way of knowing what the heat is. Other than that....it is great. I used the second one last night and kept the heat on low but already I notice it looks worn. I will continue to grill with this on low only and see how it holds up. I dare not close the lid on my BBQ for fear that it will go over the 500 degrees. But last night I cooked chicken patties and sausages. They stayed nice and juicy. Love this grill mat. Just wish it had more heat tolerance so for that reason I give it 4 stars.

I'm not really sure what most people would use this product for (other than keeping their food off of a grungy grating), but the idea for me was the ability to cook a certain type of wild mushroom (Giant Puffballs) on the grill— because normally, they need a flat surface to cook on (such as a griddle or frying pan) to contain the necessary oil. I really didn't think that the skinny piece of flexible material would work this good, but it did. Mind = blown. The one word: "awesome". Ok so I was a little skeptical when I opened the package and found these 2 super thin sheets. grill tools Me and my girlfriend both agreed that the mats were going to melt. We both stood in front of the grill as it preheated and then placed the matt on the 500 degree grate waiting for it to melt never happened. The matt works great for us as we always would lose shrimp and our veggies falling through the grate. The matt works as advertised nothing sticks and cleans up quickly with just soap and water.

While these are the most amazing grill matts we've used, they are tough to clean. Keep that in mind. They work well with ribs, too, keeping the meat from falling into the grill itself. They also help cook a great rib eye! We did skewers, too, and this matt kept the skewers, themselve, from burning (woods ones...I know I know). Anyway, this matt is worth it, all the way around. We might try it when we camp, too.

These grill mats were among a few accessories he bought for my new Big Green Egg. What a fabulous find!!! The first thing I used them for was white king salmon filets. They came out perfect, though the skin did not crisp like it does over an open flame. Next I grilled tenderloin filets and they are the BOMB!!! Even though not over direct heat, the outside had that wonderful char that you look for in a great steak while the inside cooked to a gorgeous medium rare! My fella didn't read the directions and threw the first one out after the salmon. My lab got ahold of the second one and it was quickly history. I tried those copper mats you see on TV and there is absolutely no comparison. After just one use of those mats, I was on line ordering another set from Grillaholics. They also told me about the lifetime replacement guarantee - I could have sent the lab chewed one in for a new one! I won't be without these grill mats ever again!
