grill mat makes perfect grilled salmon, steaks, veggies

I bought YRYM HT grill mats from amazon, and they arrived just in two days. So they got a lot of use in the first few days. I like them a lot. I don't usually cook for large groups of people, so I just use one grill mat at a time. That way I always have one clean one. They work great. Got the grill marks on the burgers. Nothing falls through, so I don't have to clean the grill after every use. Since I grill several times a week in the summer, that's an important consideration for me. I do recommend a little cooking spray when you use them. PS. The best grill marks happen on cast iron grates. If your grill has aluminum grates I recommend replacing at least one with a cast iron grate; you can get universal cast iron grates.

I love YRYM HT grill mats. These grill mats are easy to clean and you'd be surprised how well they heat up. I set mine on the grill when I turn my grill on and by the time I am ready to put food on the grill where the grill mat is ready to go. After the mat cools I wipe it down with a paper towel then wash in the sink. They are dishwasher safe, but my dishwasher is usually too full to just lay the mat on the top rack. What a great investment at a great price!

I love using these grill mats! I grill salmon, steaks, veggies on the grill mat. Careful with using marinades with sugars, as the sugar burns. Put bbq sauce on the chicken at the end of cooking. And the cleanup is amazing. Toss it into the sink, rinse off and while eating and put some dish soap on it and let it soak. Just cleans off so easy. Not like the metal grills. And it cools down fast too. And keeps the grill clean. Love grill tools! I'd been looking at these for a while, and finally decided to try them. The grill mats work great! Just be careful that you don't go over the recommended temperature of 500F. I rarely get my grill that hot, so I'm good. First meal was a filet mignon and asparagus, and they turned out extremely well. Cleanup is a breeze - I do mine in the sink rather than the dishwasher, but it only takes a few minutes. Wish I'd gotten them while my grill was still new and clean. But no more scraping the grates now. It seems although I had my burners on medium it was too hot and burned through the first set. The seller was fabulous by sending me a second set and properly used they're perfect! The pictures are what happens when over 500 degrees!


These really work as advertised. We get our grill HOT and I was worried they wouldn't hold up, but they do. I really thought these were a gimmick, but the other reviews and desire for something like this made me buy them. We've used them for everything... steaks, burgers, etc., but we also used them for ground beef, chopped up for adding to chili. It's great to add char/smokey meat to something like chili and it's also nice to have something to keep leaner steaks (like filet mignon) from getting dried out on the grill. We've used iron plates in the past, but that's messy and they're small. Using a pan on the grill isn't the same. By using the two mats together, with an inch overlap, the grill surface is large enough to work the ground beef, without much spillage.
